I was hoping for something good out of the return of Batman Inc and I must say, honestly, that I was not at all disappointed. This followed the Grant Morrison led Bat-stories I've been following and loving for the last few years and it didn't feel shoehorned in at all in the "new" universe. I am quite pleased.

Aren'ts appearance as Batgirl was explained, that issue was pre-52, even said so as an editorial note. Same with this weeks Secret Avengers, editorial note says it takes place prior to Avengers #26.

I'm just glad Batman Inc is back and got the same soft reboot treatment as Green Lantern.

This is probably dumb, but I'm never sure which is better: "Must Read" or "Buy It." I take the former to mean do whatever you can to read this book (borrow it, steal it, etc.) and the latter as more of a "add it to your pull list and read when you get around to it" kind of thing, but I'm not sure that I'm right.

I really hate that. I agree that's what DC is doing but it sucks and seems contrary to spirit of new 52.

So you've never a comic before, awesome, new 52 relaunching universe. But oh wait we didn't really. We just kept stuff we liked. There's still a ton of continuity and backstory for most charecters that transitioned over.

Re: BATMAN INC continuity - I assume that DC is just going to use the same broad-stroke continuity that it has been using for GREEN LANTERN and BATMAN, in general, since the New 52 relaunch (where the basic story outlined has happened but the details aren't quite the same). For example: Jason Todd has been murdered by the Joker, returned to life and become the Red Hood. Since the New 52, the basic story is the same but the way he returned to life has changed. Same thing with BLACKEST NIGHT: it happened but many of the story points have changed or been done away with. For instance, Firestorm was resurrected at the end of BN, yet, only recently appeared for the first time according to the new continuity. Same with Hawkgirl/woman. Was the Anti-Monitor the source of the Black Lantern if the Monitor never existed? Again, the story happened but the details have changed. I assume that is how DC will treat the backstory of BATMAN INC.

Or...they'll do what they did for FINAL CRISIS....let Grant Morrison tell whatever story he wants and retcon out the parts they don't like, later.

In New Aveng 26, except for the first page you posted, I cant see the other 2 pages you posted re going into the dragons cave and coming out as iron fist in my own copy. Were these pages def from this issue? At first I thought I must have some pages missing in my copy but that doesn't seem to be the case. Where do these pages come in the sorry in this issue? that's what is stupid about Avengers vs X-Men, everyone seems to forget that A) Jean had the Phoenix powers without going crazy (she saved the day in Planet X) and B) Rachel had the Phoenix for a pretty damn long time and again was a valuable asset because of it. This is just lazy story telling, they needed a reason for the two teams to fight so they pulled one out of their ass.

I haven't been super thrilled with Orc Stain, but there's no denying that Stokoe's art is masterful. It's packed with personality and his attention to detail is astonishing. I haven't read anything by Smith, but the good buzz I've heard about Gladstone's coupled with Stokoe's art makes this a no-brainer. Plus, I'm always happy to support a project like this. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!
