What would you do for One More Preview? Well, thankfully you don't have to answer that because you get the Brand New Post-Crisis Previews, which highlights most of my pull list for the coming week, to help you out. Okay, I'll stop with the terrible Spider-Man word play.If you haven't guessed, or have been living under a rock, Brand New Day starts this week. I find myself still looking forward to it despite the OMD fiasco. Nova is probably the book I'm most looking forward to and that should be excellent as always. I'm dreading what irrevocable damage Loeb will do with the debut of Hulk #1 this week. Enough of the prattling, on with the previews.

AMAZING! AMAZING! AMAZING!
This is it, Arachnophiles!!!! Prepare for what promises to be the most pulse-pounding piece of four color fiction to be delivered unto the Mighty Marvel Minions in decades! You asked for more Spidey! You demanded it! And, by Buckley, you're gonna get it! After the devastatingly heartwarming events of ONE MORE DAY, Peter Parker puts the past behind him and sets forth on a BRAND NEW DAY! Starting with Amazing Spider-Man #546, you now have THREE times the action! THREE times the villains! THREE times the danger! Amazing Spider-Man – Now 3 times every month! Bank on it, buck-o! And if that weren't enough: ASM #546 goes double-sized to bring you back-up features that introduce you to the new players in the lives of Peter and his family!
Kirk Says: Okay, so that isn't the real cover, but it may as well be. Early reviews say this is actually as good as I had hoped it would be, what with it coming from Slott and McNiven. I'll stick around for the first couple issues, but it'll have to be damn good to get me to stay with it past Slott and McNiven's run.
COUNTDOWN TO FINAL CRISIS #16Story by Paul Dini
Story consultant Keith Giffen
Scripts by Tony Bedard
Art by Pete Woods and Tom Derenick
It's all-out war as the Challengers find Ray Palmer - and so does everyone else! The fate of a universe hangs in the balance, as heroes and villains from across the multiverse face betrayal and death with Earth as their battlefield!
Plus, more DC Villains origin backup stories, including Harley Quinn!
Kirk Says: Countdown actually feels kind of important with the last couple issues. DC will probably pull the rug out from under me though and opt for some big anticlimactic end to this 'massacre'. They better focus on the damn fight and not spend an entire issue on Mary, Karate Kid, the Amazons or Jimmy "I could give a shit" Olsen.
GREEN ARROW/BLACK CANARY #4Written by Judd Winick
Art by Cliff Chiang
The second story arc of this hit new series begins with a tragedy for Oliver Queen!
Kirk Says: For all the faults in this series, I still find myself enjoying it. However, if they really kill off Connor, I think I'll be reversing my assessment on the whole enjoying aspect.
GREEN LANTERN CORPS #20Written by Peter J. Tomasi
Art by Patrick Gleason & Prentis Rollins
Mongul is back! Destroying the JLA Watchtower wasn't enough - now he's more powerful than ever and ready to instill great fear!
Kirk Says: Mongul is back! Why should I care? Honestly though, he gets spanked by everyone these days and was actually beaten earlier in Johns run on Green Lantern. Maybe with a Sinestro ring, Mongul will be able to reclaim some of that old time glory and quit being everyone's whipping boy.
HULK #1Written by Jeph Loeb
Art by Ed McGuinness
Superstars JEPH LOEB and ED MCGUINNESS will change the way you see THE HULK! In this startling origin epic, the breathtaking events that ended World War Hulk rocket into this brand-new Hulk title. When one of The Hulk's oldest cast members is murdered, everyone turns to the team of IRON MAN, SHE-HULK and LEONARD SAMSON to solve the grizzly case. All the evidence points to the Hulk as the killer—but {CLASSIFIED}! Join us for a brand--new story and a brand-new team who loves the Hulk as much as you do!
Kirk Says: I'm a glutton for punishment. If you don't see this in the reviews this week, know that there was too much bile over whatever Loeb ends up doing making my review unfit for print.
MIGHTY AVENGERS #7Written by Brian Michael Bendis
Art by Mark Bagley
The Ultimate Spider-Man super-team of Bendis and Bagley reunite and just in time for the Avengers’ biggest problem ever!!! A Venom virus hits the city of New York!! A Venom virus!! The entire city of New York turns symbiote. Plus, Wonder Man gets a much needed makeover. All this and Tony Stark
Kirk Says: Can't believe this issue is actually coming out. It seems like it was sometime last summer we first saw this cover and a couple months since this story was covered in New Avengers. Aside from Bagley's pencils, I'm not sure there's going to be much to see here.
NIGHTWING #140Written by Peter Tomasi
Art by Rags Morales & Michael Bair
Guest-starring Batman & Robin! A new era of Nightwing begins from writer Peter Tomasi (BLACK ADAM: THE DARK AGE, LIGHT BRIGADE) and the incredible art team of Rags Morales and Michael Bair (IDENTITY CRISIS)!
When the bodies of nefarious villains and fallen heroes begin to disappear from their final resting places, Dick Grayson is drawn into a mysterious, life-altering adventure!
Kirk Says: Only picking this up because of Tomasi. I love his Black Adam and I'm giving this "new era" (what's this, like his 5th or 6th new era in the past year?) a shot.
NOVA #10Written by Dan Abnett
Art by Wellinton Alves
A special standalone thriller trapping Nova and Gamora together! Allies, lovers, Phalanx puppets…and now the bitterest of enemies! Captured together by an alien menace, will the Human Rocket and the Deadliest Woman in the Universe work together to survive, or wind up killing each other instead? It’s dark, cosmic action and a love-hate clash as hit series writers Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, and new penciling sensation Wellinton Alves, deliver what Wizard calls a "one-stop shop for sci-fi spectaculars, superhero drama and real humanity."
Kirk Says: Marvel has the credits for this listing Abnett only, but the solicit mentions Lanning as well. Not sure if which is wrong or why one might not be helping on this issue. Either way, Nova rocks. You should buy it.
SALVATION RUN #3 (OF 7)Written by Bill Willingham
Art by Sean Chen & Walden Wong
The DCU's most savage villains are stranded on a hostile planet. Lex Luthor and Gorilla Grodd now control the minds of many of the other castaways, forcing them to go along with the geniuses' plan. But will this plan lead to escape, or something far more sinister?
Kirk Says: Only really sticking with this series because of a recent Wizard interview with DiDio stating this series will play a big part in Final Crisis.
WONDER WOMAN #16Written by Gail Simone
Art by Terry Dodson & Rachel Dodson
The intensity ramps up in the third chapter of "The Circle," as the whole truth is revealed about the attempted murder of Diana on the night of her birth! And in the present day, Wonder Woman fights to prevent the destruction of not just her loved ones, but her entire culture. But whose standard is she wearing into battle, and does it mean she has abandoned the gods completely? No Wonder Woman fan should miss this story!
Kirk Says: Simone's debut on Wonder Woman has been great. It's the first time I've really been interesting in her book or character before. Here's hoping it stays the course.
X-FACTOR #27Written by Peter David
Art by Scot Eaton
MESSIAH COMPLEX PART 11
The death of an X-Man reveals answers to some of the mysteries surrounding the new mutant, and creates a host of questions. The baby falls into the hands of a major player in the conflict, but things aren’t always as they seem. And it’s high noon for X-Force, the Marauders and the X-Men.
Kirk Says: This should be a major chapter in the Messiah Complex crossover as it, being an X-Factor issue and all, should feature a lot of the Jamie and Layla story and deal with the young Bishop in the future. Hopefully we get some answers to the numerous questions plaguing this story.

Love your site man, you do good work
is Messiah CompleX not 12 issues?
if it is, as I (think I) remember it being advertised as such, does that not make this issue of X-Factor the penultimate chapter? it feels like there's so much more of the story left to be told...
@anon - Thanks, glad you like it!
@woburn - There's actually 13 parts (at least thats what wikipedia says) to this crossover. Based on the spoilers I've read for this week's X-Factor, it looks like the Madrox plot is wrapped up for the most part, the next issue looks to be Pred X in New X-Men and then it should be a battle with the Marauders in the last part. I think a lot of stuff's going to be left unanswered and followed up on in Cable and the new X-Force book.
1) The Previews for this Week's Countdown look lovely, and Monarch seems to be stepping up to be a really cool bad guy. I too hope they don't shift the narrative to focus on Jimmy 'Bug****er' Olsen.
2) Hey, who says Mongul can't be cool? Don't you remember his Dad in 'For The Man Who Has Everything'?
3) Doesn't the Grodd cover remind you of that one Adam West-Batman Picture?

@salieri - ahah, I can't help but laugh every time I see that Grodd picture after seeing that Adam West image. The url was cut off, but I got it in the moderation section. Here's a link if anyone else can't see it.
Adam West Grodd Homage
Anytime, mate.
